Just two notes for the time being:
I like stories where the characters are put through the wringer, where they really struggle to survive to the ordeals, where they'll do anything in their power to protect each other, or where they sacrifice themselves to protect their friends/lover(s?)/people they're pining about/the civilians, getting humiliated, torturated, raped, ect, in their place.
I do love dark themes, though I'd prefer the story ending with a positive, hopeful note of some sort, and above all, I'd prefer if the requested ship doesn't get separated, or else gets reunited at some point of the story, or to the end.
